Hot Stone Reflexology

Hot Stone Reflexology

1 hour treatment £50

Stones have been used as a therapeutic tool for massage for centuries with evidence that dates back to ancient Egypt, China, Japan, South America and Australia.

Hot Stones can be incorporated into a reflexology treatment to further enhance the benefits of the treatment. It is estimated that one stroke of a hot stone is worth five strokes with a hand. It is also believed to be five times deeper and have a five times longer lasting effect as compared to  a 'normal' reflexology treatment. The heat helps to relax the muscles in the feet allowing the deeper work into the reflex areas. The stones may also be used on areas that may appear tender or congested.

The stones are composed of basalt, a volcanic rock, which due to its high density retains heat well. The temperature of the Hot Stones are regulated in a temperature controlled specially designed bag to ensure they are kept at the correct temperature before being applied to the foot or leg, at a comfortable temperature for the individual.
